I don't think that a statue commemorating the Battle of Stalingrad is well suited for this thread. It's not like we're besieging a bunch of Polar Bears while they're getting reinforcements from across the river. Or vice versa.
Not even if it was posted in order to imply that people here have some communism-like ideas of sharing property and wealth. Those are the ideas of communism, but only in theory. In practice, they resulted in a very small group of people having everything, while the majority had either that "same everything" but of lesser quality or nothing at all.
Call me crazy, but a Monorail Cat or even Bruce Lee Mudkipz picture would make more sense to this nonsense of QQ'ing about a useless mini and the brainfart idea of giving said mini almost no chances to drop.

yep can see where this thread is going, however, after reading it for the last few days I have decided to add my 2 lines.
mini polar bear was a great idea--$10
getting it as a quest reward ---$100
drop rate---I think this is the lynchable part---they might get a riot on their hands.
yeah I did it a bunch of times last year (20 or so---the shards netted a few good prezzies)....but dont think I will devote any add'l time to it.....
would really like to have the polar bear, as I collect bears (plushes, magnets, keychains...and the panda I consider a bear as well)....but I will not go insane trying to obtain it, or trying to obtain the cash to buy it off of someone else.
the simple solution would be to just increase the dang drop rate---everyone would be happy (oh, so sorry the mega rich would be crying...well boohoo)....

It sure is amazing of what one can do when one doesn't know what one can't do.

Since the quest can be done with so little effort, I expect a lot of bots doing the quest. And a lot of people doing the guest with 2 accounts.

Exactly! Kill someone else getting the ecto, er, um.. I mean -- I've said too much.

I was not even aware of the polar bear last year until well after Wintersday lol. Say what you will about drop rates, its nice that we have advance notice this year
I spent most of my time running the holiday quests last year because they amuse me and because they are profitable alternatives to the vaettir and raptor farms, which do not amuse me. I'll be doing the same thing this year, the polar bear is just a sweet and distant bonus.
Also, the picture of Maude Flanders above made me fall of my chair laughing.

I was in Shing Jea Monastery, and some guy was like, "Everyone here masturbates furiously to polar bear porn!"
Then a few minutes later, some guy came in talking about polar bear protection and a rogue polar bear molester, asking if we'd seen him.
He vanished before I could answer his question, though. Must be some dangerous polar bear molesters on the loose.

I can't find the Rift Warden, has anyone else had this problem? Hard for a mini polar bear to return if you can't get the quest.

He'll say it's because of his inside source but it's because that's what happened last year.

Like Halloween, Holiday NPCs are gradually phased in. The present running is the last thing that gets added.

I was just talking to our programmer about this. Not all of the Wintersday NPCs arrive on the same day.

Me and a friend both farmed this quest for like 10 hours each. Throughout the last event and no drop. But I know it's all based on luck and what not. I would just prefer they keep the droprate but leave the quest open all year long. Being able to only farm it for like a week around christmas time is kind of stupid.
Then again I also think they should leave snowball fights, dragon arena and all the other special games open all year long. I have a feeling a lot more people would be active if they actually kept the games open. Especially for people who are already fulfilled with their titles and characters.
